The Winnipeg Jets will have to wait to see Nikolaj Ehlers back on the ice, but things are still looking up for some of their injured players.
Head coach Scott Arniel said Monday morning that Ehlers would be a game-time decision, but the forward did not participate in pre-game warmups.
Arniel also told reporters that Neal Pionk is nearing a return to the lineup, the Jets are looking to get Gabriel Vilardi, and Rasmus Kupari skated by himself before the morning skate.
Additionally, defenceman Colin Miller missed Monday’s morning skate due to illness and will be a game-time decision against the Blues.
Ehlers missed Saturday’s game against the Utah Hockey Club after he was struck in the foot by a puck during Thursday’s 4-0 victory over the Golden Knights. Ehlers has been a star in Winnipeg this season with 24 goals and 39 assists in 67 games played. Without him on Saturday, the Jets lost 4-1.
Pionk has been out week-to-week with a lower-body injury. He has 37 points in 66 games this season.
Vilardi was listed as week-to-week on March 24 with an upper-body injury. He was in the midst of a career season with 27 goals and 34 assists before his injury.
Kupari has been battling concussion symptoms since early March. He missed both Thursday’s and Saturday’s games.
