Stephen and Brenton Grove will be joined by Luca Stolz in Iron Lynx’s third Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The father-and-son pairing, who will be making their Le Mans debuts, were confirmed alongside the Mercedes-AMG factory driver on Sunday, ahead of tomorrow’s release of the entry list for the French endurance classic.

The Italian squad secured an automatic invite to Le Mans by winning the 2024 European Le Mans Series LMGT3 championship, with the third car to run alongside its two full season FIA World Endurance Championship entries.

It will carry the No. 63 number, which has been synonymous to Lamborghini, the team’s previous manufacturer partner.

“We are excited to line up one additional car in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and we are proud to represent Mercedes-AMG in their return edition with an expanded program,” said team boss Andrea Piccini.

“Both Stephen and Brenton have a good amount of experience, and they are a valuable addition to the team.

“Luca is an outstanding driver. I used to be teammates with him in the past, and I know he is extremely talented and experienced. He is somebody that the team can truly rely on.”

The Groves compete in GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS as well as international entries with Mercedes-AMG machinery.

“Le Mans is the last big race on my bucket list,” said Stephen. “I had a taste of the event in 2014 in a support category, but to do the main race is something I’ve always wanted to do.

“To team up with Brenton, Luca and Iron Lynx gives me real confidence for the event. I know the AMG well and I feel now is the right time to take this opportunity and make the most of it. I can’t wait for the month of June to roll around.”

Brenton added: “I’m so excited for this year’s program and the 24 Hour of Le Mans with AMG and Iron Lynx. To have the opportunity to compete in the biggest race in the world alongside my father and Luca is definitely my career highlight.

“I’ve watched the race since I was a little kid, so to experience the atmosphere and be in the race during its golden years is something truly special. I can’t wait for the challenge.”

The full-season pairings of the No. 60 car, featuring Claudio Schiavoni, Matteo Cressoni and Matteo Cairoli, and No. 61 with Christian Ried, Lin Hodenius and Maxime Martin, will complete the Iron Lynx roster for the race.
