Fans from as close as Canada to as far away as Japan and New Zealand reported a discrepancy during FOX’s first IndyCar Series race broadcast from St. Petersburg.
Despite hearing the commentary team mentioning the use of new graphics to enhance the viewing experience, FOX’s international audience did not receive the in-car performance overlays placed on the inside of the aeroscreens, nor did they have the GPS tracking pointers which call out the car and adds relevant data like realtime speed.
In an update provided by FOX Sports, RACER understands the absence of the graphics was not by choice, but rather as the result of technical glitches experienced during FOX’s debut IndyCar broadcast.
RACER also understands that while resolving the issue with the pointers could take additional time, FOX Sports expects to have the in-car overlay problem rectified for this weekend’s event at The Thermal Club.
