Iowa-based Sukup Manufacturing Company, a large family-owned producer of grain storage, drying, and handling equipment, is the new primary sponsor of the IndyCar Series’ Iowa Speedway doubleheader.
Sukup replaces midwestern grocery store chain Hy-Vee as the main supporter of the event, which takes place July 11-13.
“Sukup has built itself from a successful family-owned company into a trusted, innovative and dedicated national brand committed to delivering quality products to its customers while supporting communities across the state of Iowa,” said Kristin Stepinski, GM of the Sukup IndyCar Race Weekend.
“Iowa is the leader in agricultural technology and Sukup sets the pace for innovation and world-class manufacturing in the industry. We are excited to partner with one of Iowa’s leading companies for Sukup IndyCar Race Weekend at Iowa Speedway.”
With the loss of Hy-Vee, which bankrolled concerts for both races featuring some of the largest country and pop musical acts in the world, the Iowa event returns to its racing-first roots. RACER understands the Sukup IndyCar Race Weekend will continue to include bands in during the weekend, but they will be focused on local and emerging talent instead of headlining names.
