Making a return to the Malaysian premium motorcycle market is Indian Motorcycles, under AFY Mobility Industries (AMI). Distributed in Malaysia under Spirit Lake, a subsidiary of AMI, Indian Motorcycles Malaysia has opened a showroom in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
The showroom includes display space for Indian Motorcycles as well as other brands under the AMI umbrella and a service centre. On display are Indian’s Scout series motorcycles, currently consisting of the Icon, Rogue and Bobber with plans to consequently import the larger Challenger and Chieftain series motorcycles.
Indian Motorcycles will also have a presence at the upcoming Malaysia Auto Show in MAEPS, Serdang, on May 9 to 15. Indian Motorcycles was previously imported into Malaysia by Naza, before it was handed over to another party.
However, things did not develop as planned for the redistribution of Indian Motorcycles in Malaysia and the agency was taken up by AMI. A visit to the Indian Motorcycles showroom by paultan.org showed viewing and sales orders are being taken, with the service centre expected to enter full operation by mid-year.
