Furniture retailer IKEA's interactive exhibition focused on democratic design at this year's Milan design week, has been captured in this video produced for the brand.
Created by Dezeen Studio, the preview shows the brand's latest venue, which will be hosting events, exhibitions and product reveals over the next seven days.
The exhibition marks 30 years since IKEA's debut at Milan design week
On show within the Tehnoa retail and co-working venue in the Navigli area of Milan, the exhibition includes IKEA's Stockholm 2025 collection.
Making its world-first debut at Milan design week, the furniture range aims to deliver high-quality design pieces at affordable prices.
A large-scale exhibition takes place across the venue, with installations and immersive rooms throughout.
On the ground floor, an area titled Do Something. Change Everything explores how small actions can create large impacts in the realm of sustainability.
Several room-based installations exploring topics such as biophilic design and feelings of joy within the home can also be found within the venue.
Visitors can also sample Scandinavian snacks with food stations serving up Swedish Smörgås sandwiches, as well as other plant-based food and drink.
Throughout the week visitors will be invited to take part in a range of activities, such as labs and talks on creative practices like screen printing and flag making.
In the evenings, the brand will be hosting daily apertivo hours, as well as live music performances and parties.
IKEA made its debut at Milan design week in 1995. In recent years the brand has showcased design collaborations with names like Marimekko, hosting a Swedish "Hot-dog Extravaganza" and created an installation featuring a "home of the future".
The IKEA exhibition runs from 7 to 13 April at Tenoha, Via Vigevano 18 Milan, as part of Milan design week. See our Milan design week 2025 guide on Dezeen Events Guide for information about the many other exhibitions, installations and talks taking place throughout the week.
