‘I wasn’t paying attention’ – Charles Barkley visibly stumped by question leaving Ernie Johnson in stitches

Once again Charles Barkley had his co-hosts in fits of laughter. The latest hysterical moment came after the NBA legend kept it honest about his inability to multi-task during CBS’ broadcast of Xavier and Illinois ‘ March Madness clash on Friday night. As ever, at half-time, the former Auburn star was expected to give his expert analysis on the game. Johnson introduced the cast and pointed to Barkley to give his take on the action but instead, he began stumbling. “Well,” Barkley said. “I think — that’s a good question.” The studio began to laugh before Smith pointed out the obvious. “That’s his job,” Smith said confused as to why Barkley could not offer his analysis. “It kinda came out of left field,” Johnson added as he noticed how shocked Barkley was. “Did you expect Ernie not to ask you anything?” Smith asked. “You know the game I’m watching. I’m watching Bryant against MSU,” Barkley said. “You know Ernie, I’m not gonna lie. I was paying attention to the Bryant score. So get after Clark or Kenneth please.” His explanation did nothing to calm down the studio as his peers erupted into laughter again.
