SAN ANTONIO, TX – Hotel Emma, Texas’ only AAA Five-Diamond hotel punctuating Pearl, has tapped Scott Ota to serve as General Manager at its signature, three-meal-per-day restaurant, Supper. Ota brings more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, holding the title of Manager & Beverage Lead for the past 12 years across San Antonio’s Botika, Pharm Table, High Street Wine Co., and ELM Restaurant Group. As Supper’s General Manager, Ota will oversee the seasonally driven restaurant’s food and beverage operations. His immediate priorities include a refresh of new hire training programs, the implementation of a new beverage training course offered to all staff, and an expansion of the number of beverage offerings. Ota will also be responsible for the management and leadership of Supper’s team.

Lopez and Ota both transitioned to Hotel Emma from Botika, a beloved Peruvian-Asian restaurant in Pearl that shut its doors in Summer 2024, where Lopez was owner. Their synergy helped earn Lopez a James Beard nomination and appearances on Chopped and Beat Bobby Flay. The two look forward to getting back in step at Supper – also within Pearl. Supper recently launched a new winter menu, incorporating local purveyors and regionally sourced items. Amongst the signature dishes are a caviar kit appetizer, featuring osetra noir caviar, served with potato chips & chive crème fraiche and Black Cod al Pil Pil entrée with pan seared cod, guindilla peppers, garlic, and olive oil. Ota was named to San Antonio Small Business Journal’s 40 under 40 list in 2022 and has earned several accolades in the industry throughout his career, including Best Sommelier at TexSom’s Sommelier Competition and one of the nation’s Best New Sommeliers in Wine & Spirits Magazine. Ota currently serves on the culinary committee for Visit San Antonio and was appointed Lead Sommelier for Meals on Wheels’ Savor Gala.
Supper is open seven days a week for three meals.
