NEW YORK, NEW YORK – The Tschuggen Collection announce that Hotel Eden Roc will be under new management as of June 2025. Markus Tauss will relocate from the Engadine to Ticino and Hotel Eden Roc will gain a passionate hotel manager with a wealth of experience in the international hospitality industry. Markus Tauss will become the youngest member of the Tschuggen Collection management team.
He initially joined the Tschuggen Collection in 2013 and 2014 at its flagship property, the Tschuggen Grand Hotel in Arosa. He then held positions with InterContinental and the Ritz-Carlton Group in several locations. After his time with these international brands, he returned to Germany to serve as Hotel Manager at Schloss Elmau Luxury Spa, Retreat & Cultural Hideaway.
The 37-year-old is now looking forward to the responsibility of leading the newly renovated Hotel Eden Roc into the upcoming summer season. “I am excited about my new role in Ticino and eager to work with the team to ensure that Hotel Eden Roc remains one of the best holiday hotels in Europe,” he said. Markus Tauss will take over the management of the Lake Maggiore property from Simon Spiller, who has passionately managed the Hotel Eden Roc for the past five and a half years.
“Following a seven-month refurbishment, Hotel Eden Roc is now ready to welcome the season in all its glory. We know Mr Tauss from our previous collaboration and are delighted to have found in him a passionate and responsible host for our unique ‘beach resort’ on Lake Maggiore,” says Leo Maissen, CEO Hotel Operations of the Tschuggen Collection.
Just in time for Easter weekend 2025, the newly renovated property on Lake Maggiore is reopening for the season. The large window fronts and modern glass railings of the expansive balconies highlight the stunning panoramic views over the sparkling blue waters of the lake. Additionally, the hotel’s own gourmet restaurant, La Brezza, is now helmed by the 32-year-old Marco Campanella, who has been awarded 19 Gault Millau points and named “Chef of the Year 2025” by Gault Millau.
