Honda Prologue gets more power and range for 2025 model year – up to 300 hp, 496 km EPA EV range

The Honda Prologue has been updated for the 2025 model year in North America, with the big change coming in the form of a new front electric motor. Last year, 33,017 units of the Prologue were sold in the United States, making it the seventh best-selling electric vehicle (EV) in the country.

Jointly developed by Honda and General Motors (GM), the Prologue is offered with front- and all-wheel drive powertrains, both featuring GM’s Ultium NCMA (nickel cobalt manganese aluminum) battery with an energy capacity of 85 kWh.

For FWD variants, the electric motor is now rated at 220 hp (+8 hp) and 329 Nm of torque (+9 Nm), while the EPA range is 496 km (308 miles), up from the previous 476 km (296 miles). The AWD variant also benefits from the new front motor, with the total system output being 300 hp (+12 hp) and 481 Nm (+34 Nm).

The EX and Touring AWD variants now offers 473 km (294 miles) of range, a gain of 21 km (13 miles), while the Elite AWD offers up to 455 km (283 miles), an increase of 16 km (10 miles). DC fast charging at 150 kW is the same as before, enabling 105 km (65 miles) to be recovered in about 10 minutes.

Pricing for the Prologue (minus destination and handling fees) remains unchanged despite the improved powertrain, with the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) starting at USD47,400 (about RM212k) for the EX 2WD and going all the way to USD57,900 (RM259k) for the Elite AWD.
