Ghost of Yotei Release Date and Special Editions Revealed

Sony surprised players this morning by announcing Ghost of Yotei release date alongside detailing its special editions. Fans were also treated to a new story trailer that explains protagonist Atsu’s quest for revenge.

Ghost of Yotei release date set in October 2025

Ghost of Yotei will release exclusively for the PS5 on October 2, 2025. Alongside the standard $70 copy, the game will come with digital deluxe and collector’s editions. Pre-ordering any edition will grant players the following bonuses:

• Unique in-game mask
• Seven PSN avatars featuring concept art of Atsu and each member of the Yōtei Six

Those who pre-order Ghost of Yotei via the PS Store will get access to the avatars immediately. Everyone else will get the freebies at launch via download codes included in the physical editions.

The digital deluxe edition costs $79.99 and comes with the following:

• The Snake’s armor set
• Alternate dye for starting armor
• Unique horse color and unique saddle dye
• In-game Charm
• Gold Sword Kit
• Early unlock of Traveler’s Maps, which allow players to find statues to upgrade their skills

Ghost of Yotei’s collector’s edition has not been priced yet, but its contents have been revealed as follows:

• All in-game items from the digital deluxe edition
• Digital copy of the game
• Replica display edition of Atsu’s Ghost mask (6.8 x 5 x 5.9 inches), made of resin and comes with a stand
• Replica of Atsu’s sash (71 inches long), made of a cotton blend
• Replica of the Tsuba from Atsu’s katana (3 x 3 inches), comes with a stand
• Pouch of coins and instructions to play Zeni Hajiki, a game of skill that players will also play within Ghost of Yotei
• Foldable papercraft ginkgo tree with a wolf at its base
• A set of four 5 x 7-inch art cards featuring the sash, the wolf, Atsu’s Ghost mask, and key art
