Hartley, who was drafted 7th overall in 2014, last played in the WNBA in 2022, but is eyeing a return to the league this spring. The 32-year-old won two NCAA championships with UConn, in 2013 and 2014, averaging 13 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.6 rebounds in four seasons. Her career has included stints with the Washington Mystics, New York Liberty, Phoenix Mercury, Indiana Fever, and Connecticut Sun. Her best season came in 2020, when she came in third place for Sixth Woman of the Year after a standout season with the Mercury. She averaged 14.6 points and 4.5 assists while shooting 38.5% from three. She last played for the Sun in 2022, averaging 4.7 points across 22 games. Last year, Hartley played overseas in Turkey. She also played in the Athletes Unlimited basketball league in the offseason. The Connecticut Sun have more roster cuts to make The Sun currently have 17 players on their training camp roster and will to cut at least five players ahead of the WNBA’s May 15th deadline. On Thursday, the team cut two players — Caitlin Bickle and Kamila Borkowska.
