Capital Brutalism
1 June 2024 to 30 June 2025, Washington DC
Capital Brutalism is an exhibition taking place at the National Building Museum in Washington DC, exploring mid-20th century buildings that conform to a brutalist style.
Incorporating materials such as concrete, brick, steel and glass, seven buildings are examined in the exhibition, which addresses their history, current influence and future.
The exhibition presents architectural models, drawings and photography, as well as alternative buildings by practices BLDUS, Brooks + Scarpa, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Gensler and Studio Gang, and the School of Architecture at the University of Nevada.
Threads of Change: Design and Data
9 February to 25 May 2025, Georgia
Threads of Change: Design and Data is an exhibition at the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA), spotlighting textile works by USA and Canada-based crafters.
The exhibition explores the relationship between textiles, the natural world and people, with designs representing ecosystems, neurology and temperature records.
Designers Margaret Wertheim, Christine Wertheim, Nathalie Miebach, Sandra Sawatzky and Bonnie Peterson are showcasing projects as part of the exhibition.
Erwan Boulloud | Touching Time
21 March to 16 May, New York City, New York
French designer Erwan Boulloud presents his latest US solo exhibition at New York City's Twenty First Gallery, spotlighting 15 furniture and lighting pieces.
Amongst the collection are table and floor lamps, coffee and console tables, mirrors and a chair.
The exhibition highlights Boulloud's use of technology and traditional craft skills, and his pieces are informed by science and time.
Boston Design Week
22 April to 4 May, Boston, Massachusetts
Hosting its 12th edition since the launch on 2012, Boston Design Week takes place for 13 days in April and May, presenting talks, exhibitions, tours and an awards ceremony.
With more than 70 events expected to take place across the city, the festival centres around five key topics: Landscape Design and Outdoor Life; Architecture and Urban Planning; Professional Focus; Design and Social Impact; and Handmade Design.
NYCxDesign 2025

Annual festival NYCxDesign returns in 2025, hosting a range of activities across seven days in New York City.
Marking its 13th anniversary, the festival returns with International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) and WantedDesign Manhattan, as well as exhibitions, talks, tours, open showrooms and studios and parties.
