United Autosports has signed Pietro Fittipaldi and David Heinemeier Hansson to complete its LMP2 lineup at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The two drivers will team up with Acura GTP star Renger van der Zande aboard the No. 22 Oreca 07 Gibson, thus locking in the driver crew for the Anglo-American two-car LMP2 effort at the French endurance classic.
As previously revealed by the release of the 59-car entry list for the event, the team’s No. 23 LMP2 Pro-Am entry will be driven by Daniel Schneider, Oliver Jarvis and Ben Hanley.
Additionally, the squad will also field its pair of McLaren LMGT3 entries at the event.
Fittipaldi and Heinemeier Hansson both have multiple LMP2 starts under their belts at Le Mans, although neither driver has competed with United previously.
Notably, the two teamed together for the event in both 2022 and 2023, when they drove for Inter Europol Competition and JOTA Sport, respectively.
Van der Zande, for his part, returns to the LMP2 class at Le Mans for the first time since 2021. He contested the last two editions in the Hypercar category with Cadillac and Chip Ganassi Racing.
“It is fantastic to welcome David, Renger and Pietro to the United Autosports team,” said team CEO Richard Dean.
“They are all proven race winners which makes for a very competitive line-up in a very exciting class. I look forward to seeing them in action with the team this June.”
United is the defending LMP2 class winner at Le Mans, having triumphed last year with Jarvis, Nolan Siegel and Bijoy Garg.
