First Look: Karl Urban In “Mortal Kombat II”

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first poster and official logo for the upcoming “Mortal Kombat” sequel.

The poster is a mock one for a film titled “Uncaged Fury” and showcases a first look at Karl Urban (“The Boys”) playing iconic MK character Johnny Cage who didn’t appear in the first film.

Simon McQuoid directs the new film from a screenplay written by “Moon Knight” head writer Jeremy Slater. Almost all the main cast from the first film are back, including scene-stealer Josh Lawson as Kano despite his apparent on-screen death.

Also back are Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi/Scorpion, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han/Sub-Zero, Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Max Huang as Kung Lao, and Chin Han as Shang Tsung.

They will be joined by Urban as Johnny Cage along with Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, CJ. Bloomfield as Baraka, Martyn Ford as Emperor Shao Kahn, Damon Herriman as Quan Chi, Desmond Chiam as Edenian King Jerrod and Ana Thu Nguyen as Queen Sindel.

The film has been rated R for “strong bloody violence and gore, and language”. James Wan, Michael Clear, Todd Garner, and E. Bennet Walsh produce the film which is scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 24th.
