Finnair Platinum Wing Hours Extended From May 1, 2025

Finnair operates two lounges at Helsinki Airport – one each on the Schengen and non-Schengen sides.

Both have separate areas for Finnair Plus Platinum and Oneworld Emerald members called Platinum Corner (Schengen) and Platinum Wing (non-Schengen). Business class passengers, Finnair’s highest class, won’t have access to them unless they are Emerald members or traveling with one.

The email that Finnair sent out this week included a note about the reduction of Avios and Tier Point earnings for codeshare flights on partners (read more here) and the cutting of Avios earned on the cobranded card with Aktia (read more here), as well as about new Platinum Wing hours (the only positive development).

The Platinum Wing hours have been extended through 7 PM from April 1st and extended until midnight from May 1st to better serve those flights to Asia that leave very late in the evening or even past midnight.

Conclusion

I have been curious about why the Platinum Wing has closed so early because it had only caught the morning and early afternoon flights to London and those to the United States but missed all the evening flights to Asia.

This is a much-welcomed change, and I am glad that Finnair has decided to extend the hours through midnight next month.

The non-Schengen Lounge and the Platinum Wing, especially, are a lovely place to wait for your flight, and I tend to type away at one of the high tables by the bar while snacking on a reindeer burger.
