Ferrari now risks double DSQ as Hamilton car fails skid check

Ferrari is facing the prospect of an embarrassing double disqualification from Formula 1's Chinese Grand Prix with both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc under investigation for technical breaches.
Fifth-place finisher Leclerc was referred to the stewards by F1 technical delegate Jo Bauer for his car falling below the FIA's minimum weight limit after the race - Pierre Gasly's was Alpine as well - an infringement that usually results in a disqualification.
Shortly afterwards, team-mate Hamilton was summoned for his rearmost skid (part of the plank on the underside of the car) failing to comply with the minimum thickness required by the technical regulations.
"Measurements were taken along the stiffness compliant area at three different points of the periphery [inner arc]," an FIA statement read.
"The recorded measurements were 8.6mm [LHS], 8.6mm [car centerline] and 8.5mm [RHS].
"As this is less than the 9mm minimum thickness required [by technical regulations], I am referring this matter to the stewards for their consideration."
This infringement is also likely to result in Hamilton's disqualification, meaning Ferrari would lose the 18 points for Hamilton and Leclerc's fifth- and sixth-place finishes.
Esteban Ocon would jump to fifth from seventh if so, with Kimi Antonelli moving into sixth place ahead of Alex Albon and Ollie Bearman.
Lance Stroll would then move into ninth and Carlos Sainz would earn an unlikely first point for Williams despite initially finishing in 13th place, should Gasly be disqualified too.
