The card will still take place – with Wardley set to discover his new opponent in the coming days. “Due to a shoulder injury sustained during training camp, Jarrell Miller has had to withdraw from his scheduled bout with Fabio Wardley at Portman Road on June 7,” a statement read on Wednesday night. “Queensbury are currently speaking to all relevant parties regarding the situation and expect to have a replacement opponent announced with in the next 48 hours.” Miller donned the colours of their rivals, Norwich City, during a heated press conference where he slapped his opponent. Wardley had initially been in negotiations to face WBA ‘regular’ champion Kubrat Pulev, but the Brit revealed to talkSPORT.com that the 43-year-old rejected the fight, leading to Miller getting the call. The WBA ‘interim’ trinket had been placed on the line for the fight, although it remains unclear if that will remain at stake. A replacement is yet to be confirmed, although No Smoke Sport, who first reported the story, is suggesting that Michael Hunter, Lenier Pero, Filip Hrgovic and Murat Gassiev are all potential options.
