‘Evil Dead: The Game’ Has Been Quietly Delisted From Digital Storefronts

Less than three years after it was released, and just over a year since the end of new content, Saber Interactive is pulling their asymmetrical multiplayer title Evil Dead: The Game from digital storefronts.

As reported by NME and several outlets, fans had noticed that Evil Dead: The Game had disappeared without any notification from the Epic Games Store and the PlayStation Store. The Steam page for the game has confirmed that the developers had indeed pulled the game from online stores.

“We can confirm we’ve begun the process of removing the game from digital storefronts. Anyone who has purchased the game will still be able to play it as we plan to keep our servers online for everyone,” reads the statement from Saber Interactive.

“We want to extend a sincere thank you to our community, to those who have been part of the game from the very beginning, and those who have recently joined us. We appreciate all of your support.”

The ability for existing owners of the game to continue to play the game online for now is a bit of a consolation, but like what happened with Friday The 13th: The Game, the servers will not be up indefinitely.

As for an explanation as to why the game is being delisted, Saber Interactive has not elaborated. One can point to the issue of licensing as the culprit, but that’s only speculation. Even then, three years is not exactly a long time for an agreement.

As it stands, you can still get your Ash fix in Dead by Daylight as part of the Ash vs. Evil Dead DLC.
