Everton held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon in the Gunners’ final ever trip to the famous old ground.

Mikel Arteta left big players out of the game as he prepares for Real Madrid on Tuesday, with Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka all on the bench.

Despite this the Gunners were the better side and took the lead through a smart Leandro Trossard opener.

However, the Toffees were working hard and diligently throughout and got their reward through a penalty very early in the second half.

Myles Lewis-Skelly brought down Jack Harrison and Iliman Ndiaye made no mistake from the spot on his return from injury.

Neither team gave up on trying to win the game but there wasn’t much cutting edge from there on in, with not a great deal on the line for either side.
