Etihad Guest has opened another campaign for up to 40% bonus on incoming points transfers from select financial institutions and hotel loyalty programs by March 31, 2025.

The partners include both regional and international banking partners, as well as four different hotel programs that will offer a staggered bonus depending on the amount of points transferred.

You can access Etihad to review the applicable points transfer partners here.

Eithad runs this campaign rather frequently and it’s important to note that not all partners are participating in this bonus and the selection of both banking and hotel partners is spread globally.

These are the details of the promotion as advertised:

Earn up to 40% extra Etihad Guest Miles by converting loyalty points to miles before 31 March:

  • Transfer 0 to 9,999 miles and get 20% Bonus Miles on each transaction.
  • Transfer 10,000 to 49,999 miles and get 30% Bonus Miles on each transaction.
  • Transfer 50,000 miles and above and get 40% Bonus Miles on each transaction.

Who is actually participating this time around?

Here is the list of partners from where you can transfer and take advantage of the bonus:

Some partners are notably missing this time around, for example Amex Korea which always participated in the last few campaigns is no longer on the list.

Etihad is quite aggressive as it seems to generate revenue with these points transfers. The big question is, what will members eventually be able to book once the points have hit the account, and at what price!?

As I wrote previously, I tried to make the program work, but never found a proper use case for my travel profile that makes sense and provides value.

Conclusion

Etihad Guest is offering another promotion to transfer points into the program, this time for partners of financial companies and certain hotel programs. It seems that EY management wants to drive these transfers in order to generate extra revenue (these banks and hotels pay Etihad for all points transferred in).

Getting the points into your account is only half the deal, though; in the end, you need to find a worthwhile redemption, and that might prove to be more difficult. I don’t consider Etihad Guest to be a program with many sweet spots for redemptions so I’d be wary before moving points into this program. Make sure that you know what a potential redemption will cost you and that it is available.
