Thankfully, nobody appeared seriously hurt and no contact was made with fans, though the impact was enough to jolt Austin and the vehicle and send one fan stood behind the barrier back into their seat. There was sufficient concern for Austin to check in on the fan twice, while WWE President Nick Khan also made his way over to address the situation. Since that madness on screen, new fan footage has surfaced from WrestleMania showing another dramatic moment for Austin and his bike before he even made it in front of the camera and on to the stage. There was a hint as to the drama – after the legend’s iconic music hit, there was a significant delay in him appearing. It’s now known that it wasn’t just Austin building suspense; he was in a right mess backstage. The fan-filmed video, taken from behind the main entrance stage, shows the Texan completely missing his route to the top of the stage and coming to a dead stop several yards further ahead, unable to move. Austin manages to hit reverse and looks to have rescued the situation but appears to crash the rear of the vehicle into the side of the ramp, sending WWE officials and stagehands scrambling to help. As many as half a dozen people are seen tussling with the vehicle to unstick it, with Austin eventually able to reverse all the way back and – with direction that might have aided him to begin with – is shown the right way up to the ramp and on to the stage. Newly crowned Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio was being whisked across the premises on a transport buggee and is seen in fan footage waving to fans, showing off his fresh gold when, taking a steady route on the outside of permitter barriers, the vehicle clips a fan in full view of the crowds. While the speed at which the vehicle was travelling would suggest no serious injury or damage, the impact was enough to knock the fan from view. All being well the fan was able to dust themselves off and enjoy the rest of their evening – Mysterio certainly will have done, and went on to successfully defend his gold against Penta on Raw the next right.
