When the PlayStation Plus monthly games for March were revealed, it was pretty surprising to see Dragon Age: The Veilguard in that lineup. However, not everyone around the world will be able to enjoy the recently released RPG as one region replaced BioWare’s latest with a Warhammer game.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin replaces Dragon Age: The Veilguard for Middle East’s PS Plus monthly games for March
Sony has announced the Middle East’s PS Plus monthly games for March. The lineup still includes Sonic Colors: Ultimate and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, but sees Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin replace Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard isn’t actually available in the country to purchase. So, the game’s absence in the Middle East’s PS Plus monthly games lineup isn’t really surprising. Although Sony has not commented on the change, many users have theorized other reasonings behind this decision.
Again, neither the developer nor Sony have not given a reason why Dragon Age: The Veilguard isn’t available on the Middle East’s PS Store, but there is a history with the region censoring or banning content with nudity or LGBTQ+ characters. As Bioware’s latest entry in the series includes both, many PlayStation players believe this is the reasoning for the game’s exclusion in the region.
The Middle East’s PS Plus monthly games lineup isn’t the only region featuring different games than the rest of the world. Japan’s lineup also includes a modified list of freebies, but still includes Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The game that was cut in Japan was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection. In its place is the 2022 SRPG Relayer.
The next set of PS Plus monthly games will be available to redeem on March 4.
