This is the perfect time for the going-nowhere Miami Dolphins to get rid of the toxic Hill, especially if they want to salvage the remainder of Tua Tagovailoa’s widely uneven career.

“I became stressed. Like, we have to have him,” Miami head coach Mike McDaniel said in 2022, when he learned that Hill was available via trade.

Those fan-boy comments become more embarrassing with every legal and police run-in that Hill racks up.

So does Miami’s football ‘culture’ that McDaniel is responsible for.

On Wednesday, Hill became the focus of three separate stories on NFL site Pro Football Talk, which normally only reserves that honor for Aaron Rodgers.

“Should have traded him while he had some type of value,” one fan tweeted.

“Dude is a cancer who has anger issues,” a second fan posted.

“Who’s trading for Tyreek?” a third fan wrote.

“You can get away with anything in the NFL,” a fourth fan said.

Only if you’re worth the trouble, and Hill couldn’t even get past 1,000 receiving yards last season, while the Dolphins went 8-9 and failed to make the playoffs.

Hill is set to make $27.6 million this season.

He’s not worth that, and definitely hasn’t lived up to a $120m extension that included $72m guaranteed.

He also threw his quarterback and entire team under the bus, then quit on the Dolphins at the same time.

“I just gotta do what’s best for me and my family,” Hill said in January.

“If that’s here or wherever the case may be, I’m (going to) open that door for myself. I’m opening the door. I’m out, bro.

“It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, bro, I got to do what’s best for my career. I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there.”

NFL's Greatest......

Ranking the top 10......

Quarterbacks of all-time – Can anyone better Tom Brady?

Wide receivers of all-time – Does Randy Moss or Jerry Rice come out on top?

Running backs of all-time – Stacking Jim Brown, Barrie Sanders, Walter Payton, Emmett Smith and more

Tight ends of all-time – How does Travis Kelce compare?

On Monday, Hill was again on the wrong side of the news because of family problems, while losing even more NFL value.

“We were informed that the police were called to Tyreek Hill’s home, and after conversations with Tyreek and members of his family, the police departed the residence without further incident and the case was closed,” the Dolphins said in a statement.

“We have since been in communication with Tyreek and the NFL and will have no further comment on the matter.”

Two weeks remain until the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Dolphins hold the No. 13 overall pick.

Travis Hunter would look brilliant in Miami aqua, orange and blue.

Ashton Jeanty would give Tagovailoa real support in the Dolphins’ backfield.

Hill was all about himself when he forced himself out of Kansas City’s dynasty.

As a Dolphin, he’s become the most troubled player in the NFL, while Miami has gone 0-2 in the playoffs.

McDaniel is more vulnerable than ever, and he’s already allowed Hill to publicly bend rule after rule.

“A lot of people may say, ‘Reek is a hothead. He’s this. He’s that.’ But all my teammates know,” Hill said in February, while apologizing to Tagovailoa and the Dolphins.

Two months later, his name was all over the news again.

This will be Miami’s best and last chance to get anything close to what Hill is still worth in football value.
