Riley Dickinson stormed to pole position for this evening’s opening race of the Porsche Carrera Cup North America weekend at the Miami International Autodrome.
The Kellymoss driver reeled off a best lap of 1:56.410 in Saturday afternoon’s stop-start qualifying session, edging out the No. 15 ACI Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car of Jimmy Llibre by 0.219 seconds.
Ryan Yardley will start Race 1 from third in his Topp Racing Porsche, with Yves Baltas and Aaron Jeansonne completing the top-five for ACI and Kellymoss, respectively.
Nolasport’s Matheus Leist was sixth, followed by Zachary Vanier of JDX Racing and Tyler Maxson, who rounded out the top-eight overall and in the Pro class.
Scott Blind took pole in the Masters class in his Ruckus Racing Porsche, edging out Pro-Am class pole-sitter Marco Cirone, who was 15th on the overall time charts.
The start of the session was initially delayed by 15 minutes, while a red flag came out with ten minutes completed.
Race 1 gets underway at 5:50 p.m. EST with live coverage on Peacock as well as IMSA and Porsche Motorsport North America’s YouTube channels.
