“Dexter: Original Sin” Comes to SteelBook Blu-ray in June

“Dexter: Original Sin” will be released on SteelBook Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on June 10 via Paramount.

Created by original “Dexter” showrunner Clyde Phillips, the prequel series takes place in Miami 1991 — 15 years before the first season of “Dexter.” When his bloodthirsty urges can’t be ignored any longer, Dexter Morgan (Patrick Gibson) must learn to channel his inner darkness.

With the guidance of his father (Christian Slater), he adopts a code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcement’s radar. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department. ​

Patrick Gibson, Christian Slater, Molly Brown, Christina Milian, James Martinez, Alex Shimizu, Reno Wilson, Patrick Dempsey, and Sarah Michelle Gellar star, with Michael C. Hall narrating as Dexter’s inner voice.

“Dexter: Original Sin” premiered in December with an episode directed by Michael Lehmann (Heathers, Hudson Hawk) and ran for 10 episodes on Paramount+ with Showtime.

No word on a second season, as Phillips is busy working on “Dexter: Resurrection.”
