He signed a five-year, $50million contract with the school in December and is preparing them for the looming season, which begins on September 1. Former Patriots receiver Julian Edelman expressed concern that Hudson has become a distraction to Belichick’s ability to lead the Tar Heels’ program. “It’s gained and it’s snowballed to what it’s become right now, where we’re talking about it three weeks later, it’s become a distraction,” Edelman said on The Herd with Colin Cowherd. “That’s what we all think right now. This is becoming a distraction. We gotta practice what we preach here.” North Carolina issued a statement on Friday addressing the report about Hudson. “While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities,” the statement said. “Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.”
