Till enjoyed an excellent run in MMA that saw him compile an 18-5-1 record overall and compete for a UFC welterweight title. Stewart (16-10) was less successful in MMA’s premier promotion where he lost the majority of his fights. However, he built up an impressive highlight reel of brutal finishes including knockout victories over Eric Spicely and Charles Byrd under the UFC banner. He will be making his boxing debut against Till, although his hands have always been his strong point. Till, on the other hand, is currently 2-0 as a boxer having stopped Mohammad Mutie in his first fight back last July and then followed that up with another win inside the distance six months later over Anthony Taylor at Misfits Boxing 20. The Liverpudlian was supposed to box Tommy Fury in his last outing but ‘TNT’ pulled out after Till insisted he would break the rules and knockout Fury with a head kick if the fight started to go against him. Speaking to talkSPORT MMA days later, he said: “For years, the Fury’s have always intimidated and bullied everyone at press conferences. “At fights, at fight week, at weigh-ins, whatever. That’s what they’ve done. “That’s their thing. It’s all mental warfare, isn’t it? John intimidated Jake Paul‘s father. John [head] butted someone from [Oleksandr] Usyk’s team. Till is 2-0 as a boxer and fought for the UFC welterweight title in MMAGETTY “John punched glass to try and punch KSI when KSI was making weight, whatever.  “All this, sound, that’s what you do, you’re building a fight. We all know how this goes, right? “It’s not fake. It’s not like whatever. It’s all real. But at the same time, you’re building a fight. “I come along. I’m not the hardest man out there. I’m not whatever. “But I am still one of the best MMA fighters out there, because you’ve got to be the best to get where I got to.” Luckily, Till is now boxing someone who is trained to defend against head kicks so any pre-fight provado is unlikely to derail the clash.
