House of the Dragon
Barry Sloane (“Sandman”), Tom Cullen (“The Gold”) amd Joplin Sibtain (“Andor”) have all joined the third season of HBO’s fantasy series “House of the Dragon”. Sloane will play Ser Adrian Redfort, Cullen will play Ser Luthor Largent, andSibtain will play Ser ‘Bold’ Jon Roxton.
Production on the third season is expected to begin “in a couple weeks” with the creative team having completed the scripts for the next installment. It has been teased that ‘four major events’ from the book will get adapted to the screen. [Source: Variety]
Tony
“The Holdovers” young star Dominic Sessa will play kitchen legend Anthony Bourdain alongside Oscar nominee Antonio Banderas in the biopic “Tony” at A24. Banderas’ role is under wraps.
Matt Johnson (“Blackberry”) directs the film which will take place in 1976 when a young Bourdain has a life-changing experience working and living in Provincetown, Massachusettes. Todd Bartels and Lou Howe penned the script and filming begins next month. [Source: Variety]
Lanterns
Veteran character actor Paul Ben-Victor (“The Wire,” “Entourage”) is returning to HBO for the upcoming TV series “Lanterns”. He will play Antaan, an alien with a deep hatred for the law who is devoted to exposing the truth and exacting vengeance against those who wronged his people.
Ben-Victor joins the currently in production eight-episode series which also stars Aaron Pierre, Kyle Chandler, Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan and Ulrich Thomsen, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Sherman Augustus, J. Alphonse Nicholson, Jason Ritter, Nathan Fillion and Chris Coy. [Source: Deadline]
The Invite
Seth Rogen, Edward Norton and Penélope Cruz have all signed on to star opposite Olivia Wilde in the date night comedy “The Invite”, a loose reimagining of Cesc Gay’s 2020 film “The People Upstairs,” which is now in production in Los Angeles.
Rashida Jones and Will McCormack writes and Wilde directs the film about a couple [who] invites the neighbors over, igniting an evening full of unexpected twists and turns, revealing deeply repressed emotions and unexplored sexuality. [Source: Variety]
