Colin Braun laid down the quickest lap of the day on Friday at Sonoma Raceway, following the second GT World Challenge America powered by AWS practice session of the day.

Braun, in the No. 04 CrowdStrike by Riley Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, set a 1:33.745 time in the Pro-Am class entry to edge out Kenton Koch’s Pro category No. 99 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT3 EVO by 0.124 seconds.

Tom Sargent made a late improvement to go third in the No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R, demoting Philip Ellis to fourth in the No. 91 Regulator Racing Mercedes-AMG, while fellow factory driver Mikael Grenier made it three Mercedes-AMGs in the top-five with the No. 34 JMF Motorsports example.

The No. 51 Random Vandals BMW of Varun Choksey was sixth quickest, with Robby Foley seventh in the No. 29 Turner Motorsport BMW in the afternoon session, which ran without any red flags or notable incidents.

The top ten was completed by Andy Lee (Flying Lizard Motorsports BMW), Alex Sedgwick (RS1 Porsche) and Isaac Sherman (CRP Racing Mercedes-AMG).

Qualifying is set to get underway Saturday at 9:35 a.m. PST with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel.

RESULTS: Practice 2
