Brand New announce first public shows since Jesse Lacey allegations

Brand New have announced their first public shows since 2017, when allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced against Jesse Lacey. Since then, the band started playing a few private/benefit shows for friends and family, and Lacey has done solo sets, most recently a very expensive and intimate show for LA wildfire relief followed by a bigger public show on Sunday (3/2) at Eastside Bowl in his current hometown of Nashville. Now three public Brand New shows have been announced on the band’s website and in an email to subscribers to their mailing list, one of which again happens in Nashville this month, at new venue The Pinnacle. The others happen at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, TX and Megacorp Pavilion in Newport, KY.

Lacey had issued a statement about the allegations in 2017, saying that he had “caused pain and harm to a number of people” and continuing, “I am sorry for how often I have not afforded women the respect, support, or honesty that they deserved, and which is their right.” They also cancelled their remaining tour dates at the time.
