The St. Louis Blues will be without Dylan Holloway for some time.
The winger is considered week-to-week after suffering a lower-body injury on Thursday, the team announced on Friday.
Head coach Jim Montgomery told reporters earlier Friday that the Blues were waiting on a full prognosis, but that Holloway would be out at least two games.
Holloway was injured in Thursday’s overtime win against the Pittsburgh Penguins following a hit from rookie Rutger McGroarty in the first period.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed a career year in his first year with the Blues. He entered Thursday’s game with 26 goals and 37 assists in 76 games, all career highs.
St. Louis signed Holloway and Philip Broberg to offer sheets in the off-season, and after the Edmonton Oilers declined to match, both joined St. Louis on two-year deals.
If Holloway is ruled out for an extended period of time, it would come as a major blow to the Blues, who are currently bulldozing their way through the wild-card race and challenging for third in the Central Division with an 11-game win streak.
Holloway leads the Blues in game-winning goals, with eight of his 26 snipes standings as contest clinchers.
