Cameron informed talkSPORT two weeks ago that Whittaker’s promotional outfit, BOXXER, was trying to reduce the number of rounds to 10 despite him already signing to compete in 12. It was later disclosed that an ‘administrative error’ had led to both men receiving different contracts – Whittaker for a 10-round fight and Cameron for a 12-rounder. After some back and forth between the two camps, it has finally been agreed that the fight will be over ten rounds. A compensation package has been agreed with Cameron for the fight as well.
