With filming underway on “Avengers: Doomsday” in the UK, some of the film’s cast members have assembled for a screening of “Thunderbolts*”.
One shot sees Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Simu Liu, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Channing Tatum and Winston Duke posed in front of a screen with some sort of work station. That shot is captioned “It’s movie night with the boys…get your tix!!”
The other shot features the same actors, along with Ebon-Moss Bacharach and Vanessa Kirby joining them. The biggest reveal of the shots, aside from Downey Jr. potentially dropping a spoiler, is Downey’s look.
As he’s playing Dr. Doom in this, gone is Tony Stark’s trademark goatee. Instead he’s clean shaven and with short grey hair. Doom is masked almost all the time of course so how the film is intending to do that isn’t clear.
The photos come as “Thunderbolts*” hit cinemas this weekend and already pulled in $11.5M in previews last night. The film seems very much key to the setup of “Avengers: Doomsday” which could spur interest in both this title and the upcoming “Fantastic Four: The First Steps”.
