Avalanche acquire defenceman Erik Johnson from Flyers
Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports that Erik Johnson is returning for his second stint with the Avalanche.

The Colorado Avalanche are bringing back Erik Johnson.
Colorado acquired the veteran defenceman from the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday in exchange for forward Givani Smith.
Johnson has appeared in 22 games with the Flyers this season scoring a goal while adding two assists.
The 37-year-old previously spent 13 seasons with the Avalanche winning a Stanley Cup with the team in 2022.
Johnson joined the Flyers this past off-season on a one-year, $1 million deal.
In 1,009 career games, Johnson has 94 goals and 346 points.
Smith, 27, has appeared in 13 games this season with Colorado and San Jose but has not recorded a point.
