If Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remains one of the most beloved games in the entire series, it’s partly because it was the last time that AC had a full multiplayer mode. 12 years later, and the competitive sneaking and stabbing that first began with Brotherhood is yet to make a return. But that could be about to change. As Ubisoft prepares to announce what’s next for its latest, Japan-set stealth RPG, hidden code strings suggest that Assassin’s Creed Shadows multiplayer could be a reality. Given that we have two protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke, perhaps a full co-op mode would also make sense. Here’s hoping.
