April Update Brings Fresh Features to OnePlus Pad 2 Globally

The OnePlus Pad 2 is now getting a rather major new update, which not only delivers the latest security patch (for April) but also some new features as well. This update is marked as OxygenOS 15.0.0.801, and it’s rolling out across the globe.

It has been confirmed that the update is hitting all major global markets, including North America, Europe, India, and more. It is, however, rolling out in stages, so you may have to wait a bit before it reaches your device.

First and foremost, yes, the April 2025 Android security patch is included here. It enhances system security, as usual. There are some features to talk about as well, however.

This update adds partial screen recording to the OnePlus Pad 2. You can select a specific area of the display and record it, instead of opting for full-screen recording. The UI of the Calendar app has also been enhanced here, and the same goes for the Notes and My Files apps. OnePlus aimed at improving information density and facilitating the content drag-and-drop feature.

OnePlus added new clock widgets, enhanced gesture recognition, and more

Furthermore, this update adds new clock widgets. They have options to display current weather conditions and local time. The default apps available in Super Power Saving mode have been revised as well. OnePlus also improved the process for adding apps to this mode.

The company has also enhanced gesture recognition for closing floating windows. Shadow effects around floating windows have been improved. Also, now, when Quick Settings and the notification drawer are shown in a single panel, one is displayed above the other instead of side-by-side.

That is basically everything this update brings. It’s certainly far more than we’ve expected from an April 2025 update, that’s for sure. It’s always nice to see quality of life updates, and the same goes for useful new features/options.
