Ann Coulter knocks 'Kim Jong il-style tributes' at Trump Cabinet meeting

Conservative media personality Ann Coulter on Wednesday slammed President Trump’s latest Cabinet meeting, saying that it featured “Kim Jong il-style tributes.”

“Would it be possible to have a cabinet meeting without the Kim Jong il-style tributes?” Coulter wrote in a post on the social platform X, comparing the Wednesday meeting to that of the former North Korean dictator.

During the meeting, multiple members of Trump’s Cabinet, including Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, praised the president, with the defense chief saying that due to Trump’s “leadership,” he thinks “we’re making the military great again.”

In August, Coulter said she would vote for Trump in the November election despite stating she distrusts him.

“Donald Trump, because if he loses he will be running again in four years, and then he will have lost four successive elections for us,” Coulter said when asked about her vote choice at the time.

“Truthfully, I really like his choice of JD Vance, which I recommended back in May,” she continued. “Can’t trust Trump as far as I can throw him, but I do trust JD Vance to care about the left-behind people.”

Despite the praise from his Cabinet on Wednesday, Americans’ opinions on the Trump administration have soured in recent polls

A recent Decision Desk HQ survey showed Trump having a 44 percent approval rating. In a The Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll, the president’s approval rating sank from 45 percent in February to 39 percent in April.

Trump last week reacted negatively to a recent Fox News poll showing him with a 44 percent approval rating, saying in a Truth Social post that the owner of the outlet “has told me for years that he is going to get rid of his FoxNews, Trump Hating, Fake Pollster, but he has never done so.”

“This ‘pollster’ has gotten me, and MAGA, wrong for years,” the president added. “Also, and while he’s at it, he should start making changes at the China Loving Wall Street Journal. It sucks!!!”

The Hill has reached out to the White House for comment.
