Anderson Has Talked “X-Files” With Coogler

Actress Gillian Anderson has finally spoken about the upcoming “The X-Files” reboot from “Black Panther” and “Sinners” director Ryan Coogler.

Appearing on ITV1’s This Morning, Anderson was asked about the project and confirmed she’s been in touch with the famed filmmaker about the series. She also indicated that if she’s asked to join the series, it might happen:

“I spoke to him, and what I said was, ‘If anyone were to do it, I think you are the perfect person and best of luck, call me’. At some point, if the phone rings and it’s good and it feels like the right time – perhaps. That’s what I said. But he’s amazing.”

The comments follow in response to Coogler’s recent appearance on Last Podcast on the Left where he confirmed “The X-Files” reboot is immediately next for him, saying: “if we do our jobs right, will be really f—-g scary”.

Anderson played Agent Dana Scully throughout the history of the series alongside David Duchovny as her partner Agent Fox Mulder. The pair investigated ‘X-Files,’ which were unsolved cases featuring paranormal phenomena.

Creator Chris Carter previously indicated he isn’t involved in the new show but is cheering it on.
