All you need to know about second Imola F1 practice
Oscar Piastri led another McLaren 1-2 - but a much more emphatic one - in the second Formula 1 practice at Imola

McLaren repeated its earlier 1-2 in second practice for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola, with Formula 1 world championship leader Oscar Piastri again ahead of Lando Norris.
Just 0.025 seconds split the title rivals, and this time they had a more comfortable margin over the competition than had been the case in first practice.
Their closest rival was a surprise - Alpine had already looked promising in practice one and Pierre Gasly improved further to go third ahead of George Russell's Mercedes.
Max Verstappen had frustrations with his Red Bull bottoming out, a stray nut loose in the cockpit, something scratching his foot and traffic in the way en route to fifth.
Brakes were Charles Leclerc and Ferrari team-mate Lewis Hamilton's main radio complaint as they took sixth and 11th.
Isack Hadjar was strong throughout the session for Racing Bulls and took seventh, but ended his day in embarrassing fashion after he ran wide out of Tamburello and spun back across the track into the barriers. He hit them lightly enough to try to drive back onto the circuit, only to get beached on the grass and kerbs at the edge of the track, causing a red flag with six minutes left. Williams spent a while first and second early on, but Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz ended up ninth and 10th after the soft-tyre runs, behind Yuki Tsunoda's Red Bull.
F1 returnee Franco Colapinto raised eyebrows from rivals with his determination - as instructed by the Alpine team - not to let them past when on the long runs. He was 13th fastest.
