Activity announce new album, playing shows with Suuns & FACS (hear “In Another Way”)
Brooklyn band Activity have announced their fourth album, ‘A Thousand Years In Another Way,’ which will be out June 6 via Western Vinyl.
Brooklyn band Activity have announced their fourth album, A Thousand Years In Another Way, which will be out June 6 via Western Vinyl. It was produced by Jeff Berner of Psychic TV and Shilpa Ray’s band. The group’s Travis Johnson says of the album’s themes, “Evil is very real and having its way, and love is also real and hasn’t lost yet.”
The album opens with “In Another Way,” a simmering, sinister-sounding song that Johnson says is “a way of letting off a bunch of aggression, rage, and resentment at things not being the way they should be, both personal and global (wishing things were “another way”), and feeling completely impotent about it except when playing the song.” You can watch the video, which was directed by former Activity drummer Steve Levine, below.
Activity have a few shows this month, playing Wednesday (4/9) at TV Eye in Ridgewood with Chicago’s similarly minded FACS and Blank Account. They’ve also got shows with Montreal’s SUUNS at TV Eye on April 26 and Philly’s Kung Fu Necktie on April 27.
