ABT will expand its program at the Nürburgring 24, adding a second Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 for its third appearance with the Italian brand.

The partnership between ABT and Lamborghini is heading into its third season, debuting in 2023 and then securing a best finish of fifth in last year’s weather-shortened, red-flagged edition.

On Tuesday, the team announced plans for an expanded effort that will include the entry of a pair of Lamborghinis at the N24 as well as at selected NLS rounds, including this weekend’s season opener.

Six Lamborghini factory drivers have been selected for driving duties, with reigning DTM champion Mirko Bortolotti joined by Christian Engelhart, Luca Engstler, Marco Mapelli, Jordan Pepper and Franck Perera.

Additionally, current Corvette factory ace Daniel Juncadella will also be part of the program, marking the Spaniard’s first N24 appearance in anything other than Mercedes-AMG machinery.

The exact composition of the driver crews will be revealed at a later date.

“We are delighted to have put together such a strong team,” says Martin Tomczyk, ABT motorsport director.

“Not only do the guys have a lot of GT3 and Lamborghini experience, but they also fit together very well on a personal level – and they all want to be successful in this famous race.”

Rouven Mohr, Lamborghini’s chief technical officer, added: “We are delighted to have ABT as a strong partner at our side and to support the team on and off the track.

“We have learnt a lot over the past two years and are now looking forward to the next attempt at ‘double dedication’ this year.”
