‘Absolute chaos’: Fans react to bench brawl between Canadiens and Capitals
If you haven’t seen two opposing players fight on the bench, you have now.

If you haven’t seen two opposing players fight on the bench, you have now.
In front of a raucous Bell Centre crowd for Game 3 between the Montreal Canadiens and Washington Capitals on Friday, a little old-school hockey broke out.
After the horn sounded to end the second period with the Canadiens up 3-2, the players started to make their way to the dressing room. The only problem? They didn’t quite make it there.
A full-team brawl started right in front of the Capitals bench, and continued into it.
Canadiens forward Josh Anderson and Capitals forward Tom Wilson picked each other out of the crowd, and their fight spilled over into the Washington bench after the door popped open.
The two were wrestling with each other right in front of the Capitals coaching staff, with linesman Kyle Flemington right in the middle of it trying to break it up.
At the end of the chaos, Wilson and Anderson each got two minutes for roughing and a 10-minute misconduct. Capitals forward Lars Eller and Canadiens defenceman Arber Xhekaj also received two minutes for roughing.
Things between the Canadiens and Wilson had been testy right from warm-ups, and finally boiled over in a major way. Wilson even made a point to make a crybaby face to the Canadiens after the fight was over.

It was a scene you definitely don’t see every day, and hockey fans reacted accordingly. Here are some of the best reactions to the madness in Montreal.
