Thirty-four cars will contest the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe season opener at Circuit Paul Ricard as the series returns to the French venue after a one-year absence.
In previous years, the Le Castellet circuit was often a staple of the series’ calendar, but was absent in 2024 as the championship aligned itself with the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Now, with a move back to the support package for GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, Super Trofeo Europe returns to Paul Ricard as part of the bill for the six-hour Endurance Cup opener.
The field of 34 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2s is headlined by a pack of 13 Pro entries, joined by three cars in Pro-Am, ten in Am and seven in LB Cup.
Reigning European champion Amaury Bonduel will not defend his title, while runners-up Largim Ali and Oliver Soederstroem have both also notably departed the series to step up to the GTWC Europe Endurance Cup.
BDR Competition, which ran Bonduel’s car last year, has attracted an all-new, two-driver lineup to replace the Belgian, with Kai Rillaerts making his series debut alongside Lucas Valkre.
Target Racing’s two-car Pro effort will see Patrik Fraboni team up with Giacomo Pedrini in the No. 9 Lamborghini, while Guido Luchetti drives solo aboard the No. 10 sister car.
Series stalwarts Oregon Team again field two Pro machines as part of a four-car effort, with Enzo Geraci returning to the team after a partial campaign last year.
Geraci, last year’s winner of the Super Trofeo Junior shootout, will share the the No. 36 car with Josef Knopp while Rosario Messina and Gustaw Wisniewski form the driver pairing for the No. 34 sister Lamborghini.
The remainder of the Pro class is made up by GT3 Poland, Vincenzo Sospiri Racing, DL Racing and UNIQ Racing and Leipert Motorsport.
The latter will enter three cars in the Pro ranks, with former F1 Academy racer Lola Lovinfosse part of the driver lineup. The 19-year-old made her Super Trofeo debut last year, driving for Schumacher CLRT.
The three-car Pro-Am field does not feature defending champions Bronislav Formanek and Stefan Rosina, although Renaud Kuppens, who won the global Am title at last year’s Jerez World Finals, does join the class.
He will share the No. 2 Boutsen VDS Lamborghini with Hugo Bac, while ASR has enlisted Milos Pavlovic and Alessio Rufini. Anthony Nahra and Dimitri Enjalbert complete the class, driving for BDR Competition.
Stephane Tribaudini and Piergiacomo Randazzo return to defend their Am title aboard the No. 66 Vincenzo Sospiri Racing Lamborghini.
Tribaudini, for his part, comes fresh off his debut outing in the European Le Mans Series, finishing fourth in the LMP3 class at Barcelona.
The LB Cup field, meanwhile, is headed up by the returning No. 12 ART-Line Lamborghini of reigning champion Shota Abkhazava.
The first race of the season will take place Saturday at 4:20 p.m CEST (10:20 a.m. EDT), with the second race on Sunday scheduled to kick off at 12:05 p.m. CEST (6:05 a.m. EDT).
