Perhaps the epitome of Suzuki’s V-twins is the 2025 Suzuki SV650, priced at RM29,900 excluding road tax, insurance and registration. There are three colour options for the SV650 in Malaysia – Pearl Vigor Blue/Metallic Mat
Black No.2, Pearl Mat Shadow Green/Metallic Mat Black No.2 and Metallic/Mat Black No.2 – available at all authorised Suzuki Big Bike World and Suzuki Station Plus dealerships nationwide.
Drawing on over two decades of model production, the SV650 in Malaysia is termed as the “final edition”, perhaps marking the last hurrah for this middleweight V-twin. In Malaysia, the SV650 faces competition from the likes of the Kawasaki Z650, CFMoto 650NK, Triumph Trident 660, Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Aprilia Touno 660, and to a lesser extent, the Honda CB650R and QJMotor SRK600.
Now in its fourth generation since 1999, the SV650 comes with Suzuki’s Euro 5 compliant 90-degree V-twin, displacing 645cc with two spark plugs per cylinder. Power is rated at 74.9 hp at 7,500 rpm with a maximum torque of 59.9 Nm at 8,000 rpm, going through a six-speed gearbox to the rear wheel.
Suspension is done with telescopic forks in front, non-adjustable, with 41 mm of travel, while the rear end is held up by a monoshock, with seven-step preload adjustment and 130 mm of suspension travel. Brakes in front are dual 290 mm diameter discs with twin Nissin callipers with a single hydraulic disc in the rear, while two-channel ABS is standard equipment.
Wheel sizing for the SV650 is 17-inches front and rear, wearing 120/70 front ad 160/70 rear rubber. Weight for the SV650 is listed as 197 kg with 14-litres of fuel in the tank, while seat height is set at 785 mm.
