2025 Honda HR-V RS e:HEV in Stellar Diamond Pearl – new white option from WR-V before facelift comes

The Honda HR-V gained a new Stellar Diamond Pearl paint option last week, and now we’ve shot an exterior gallery of the car, displayed at the Peringgit Sri Auto showroom on Old Klang Road. The white hue, which replaces Lunar Silver Metallic on the local palette, was first seen on the WR-V in 2023 and is likely the last update for the B-segment SUV before a facelift comes later this year.

Stellar Diamond Pearl is a slightly cooler tone than the other white option, Platinum White Pearl, thanks to the mica particles giving it a bluish sheen. Despite both paints being pearlescent, Stellar Diamond Pearl is a no-cost option, whereas Platinum White Pearl costs an additional RM800.

Beyond the new paint, there are no changes to the HR-V – shown here in range-topping RS e:HEV hybrid trim – since its launch in 2022. That means you still get a familiar design with trapezoidal LED headlights, a large hexagonal grille, a prominent arrow-straight shoulder line, a C-pillar kink integrating the hidden rear door handles and full-width taillights.

All but the base E variant come with a bodykit consisting of a front spoiler (replete with a distinctive “heartbeat” graphic” and rear diffuser, with the V and RS models also upgrading from 17- to 18-inch alloy wheels. The RS is differentiated through a red “heartbeat” graphic and gloss black body cladding.

Inside, the HR-V features a clean horizontal dashboard with full-width air vents (with L-shaped corner vents designed to diffuse air along the sides of the car), chunky silver air-con control knobs and a “wraparound” centre console design. An eight-inch touchscreen head unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is fitted as standard, with the E variant and above also gaining a seven-inch part-digital instrument display.

Safety-wise, the HR-V comes with the full Honda Sensing suite of driver assists such as Level 2 semi-autonomous driving features, as well as no less than four airbags; the E trim adds curtain airbags for a total of six airbags. The V and RS models also receive the LaneWatch blind spot camera.

The HR-V remains available with three powertrain options. The base S model is powered by a 121 PS/145 Nm 1.5 litre naturally-aspirated DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder engine, with the E and V graduating to a 181 PS/240 Nm VTEC Turbo unit; both mills are mated to a CVT. The RS e:HEV, on the other hand, is motivated by a 131 PS/253 Nm electric motor juiced by 107 PS/131 Nm 1.5 litre NA engine, which can also clutch in to drive the car directly at higher speeds where it is most efficient.

The only change over the past three years was to the prices, which rose to their current levels in July 2023. Prices now start at RM115,900 for the 1.5 S, rising up to RM130,900 for the 1.5 Turbo E and RM135,900 for the 1.5 Turbo V; the RS e:HEV tops out at RM141,900.

To sweeten the deal, Honda Malaysia (HMSB) is offering some notable deals as part of its Bonus Raya Raya Sangat Best promotion this month. The HR-V is available with a discount of up to RM14,000 for 2024 units and up to RM7,000 for 2025 units, as well as another RM1,000 in either service vouchers or a straight cash rebate. This brings the total saving up to RM15,000 for 2024 units and RM8,000 for 2025 units. Vehicles will need to be registered before March 31 to be eligible.

With HMSB confirming that it will be launching two more models this year (the third, the facelifted Civic, was already introduced in January), the HR-V is next in line to receive a facelift. The refreshed model debuted in Thailand in November with a reshaped grille, a mildly re-profiled front bumper, new taillights, a revised centre console design and an updated e:HEV powertrain.
