10 Reasons Why Season 3 of 'The White Lotus' Was a Disappointment
Season 3 of the hit HBO series The White Lotus has gotten a more mixed reception than the previous two seasons, and here are some reasons why.
The White Lotus never had more fans streaming on Max than in season three, so it's not surprising that it's been approved for a fourth season. However, despite its burgeoning popularity, the anthology series has also never had more criticism. In light of the latest season finale, there are many things not to like about how director-writer Mike White treated the stories in Thailand. The season didn't feel nearly as emotionally resonant or funny as its two predecessors, and there are a few fundamental issues that summarize most of the problems: the pace is so slow that the major events lose their tension and emotional impact, there are too many characters with uneventful storylines, and some things don't make sense or work on a dramatic level.
