The former Celtic manager was asked if he thought that winning the Europa League would save Spurs’ poor season or not, having come under immense criticism for the club’s shocking league campaign. Man Utd manager Amorim has been posed similar questions throughout the season given their league form too, and has insisted that “nothing will save our season”. Speaking in his post-match press conference, Postecoglou defiantly batted away the idea that Spurs should take United’s standpoint on the idea. He said: “I don’t care. Why do I care what Man Utd think? Why is that relevant to me? “Okay so, ask the Man Utd manager why he says that. Me? I’ve said this is important all along.” Probed to delve deeper into what a first trophy in over 17 years would mean for Spurs, Postecoglou implied that it was obvious what ending the drought would do for the club. Turning the question around on the reporter, he added: “To be fair, you know better than me. You’ve followed this club probably more than I have.
