Wendy Williams Transported From Living Facility to Hospital for Evaluation After Police Wellness Check

Wendy Williams was removed from her assisted living facility and taken to a hospital for evaluation following a Monday wellness check by NYPD, according to multiple media reports.

Police responded to the facility reportedly at around 11:15 a.m., after Williams dropped a note out of her window that morning that read, “Help! Wendy!!” the New York Post reported. The NYPD confirmed in a statement to TheWrap that a 60-year-old female was transported after a wellness check at 505 West 35th St.

Back in 2022, Williams was placed under court-ordered guardianship after her bank, Wells Fargo, froze her accounts and filed a petition for a temporary financial guardianship over what it believed was suspicious activity.

Since then, Williams has pushed for her freedom, stating that her outside access is limited, and that she remains under the control of her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morissey, who’s reportedly referred to Williams as “cognitively impaired, permanently disabled and legally incapacitated,” per People. However, Williams has denied those claims.

“I am not cognitively impaired but I feel like I am in prison,” Williams said during a virtual appearance on “The Breakfast Club.” “For the last three years, I’ve spent my birthday by myself,” Williams added. “This is what is called emotional abuse.”
