That was a tidy success and does now have to carry 10lb more as these two meet again over fences. Yealand has very good form over fences with two wins from four attempts and gradually improving if the ratings are sound. That said, Yealand had a 5lb claimer on board that day, Galunggung remains unexposed at this trip and could spring a small surprise on the even money favourite under Brian Hughes for trainer Donald McCain. Starcrossed Lover Seemed to be an uncharacteristic run last time out in the Grade 2 Dovecote Novices’ Hurdle. And after two solid wins earlier this season he should be able to bounce back against the Willie Mullins-trained Jarrive De Mee. Who did win comfortably last time out but was kept up to his work under Patrick Mullins who is back on board here. But it seems the Neil Mulholland-trained horse could make it tough if returning to previous form. Presenting Doy On a very workable mark on handicap debut and the Owners Group mare should progress on after first two hurdle starts. Which included an encouraging close finish behind That’s Nice who has since set the standard in that field, but could prove along with second placed Miss Cynthia that this current mark is below her potential and thus should make the most of it here now on good ground. Regarde Duke Of Deception went well in second last time out but that was only ten days ago and warrants question marks on being able to back that form up so soon after a 3m5f test. Especially as this horse pulled up twice this season from six runs, both of which were over 3m5f. Regarde may have had the issue that caused him to pull up rectified with a wind op in January. And he’s had plenty of time to recuperate from that after some encouraging signs over fences this season. The step up in trip is also likely to see more progression for a trainer in incredible form; with Jamie Snowden winning seven in 19 over the last two weeks. 3.20: Starcrossed Lover 6/5 (1pt)
    3.50: Presenting Doy 4/5 (1pt)

Galunggung

Galunggung beat Yealand over hurdles at Bangor in April 2024 when carrying just 2lb more.

Starcrossed Lover

Seemed to be an uncharacteristic run last time out in the Grade 2 Dovecote Novices’ Hurdle.

Presenting Doy

On a very workable mark on handicap debut and the Owners Group mare should progress on after first two hurdle starts.

Which included an encouraging close finish behind That’s Nice who has since set the standard in that field, but could prove along with second placed Miss Cynthia that this current mark is below her potential and thus should make the most of it here now on good ground.

Regarde

Duke Of Deception went well in second last time out but that was only ten days ago and warrants question marks on being able to back that form up so soon after a 3m5f test.
